Natasha and the rest of the Hobson family are recent transplants from Texas. With a burden for souls and a calling to the Last Frontier, Alaska is now their home. Natasha is wife to Steve Hobson and a homeschooling parent. She’s a mother to three amazing young people, Jared (20), Braden (17), and Kianna (13). Her introduction to Bible Quizzing started when her own children began quizzing as beginners. She loved being a parent volunteer and a coach. The most exciting thing for her was witnessing the life changing impact that quizzing brought in her own children and the other quizzers. Learning, memorizing, hiding God’s Word in their hearts and allowing it to take root in children and young people is a passion for her. Natasha loves to teach Bible studies and serve at her local church. She also loves to explore the outdoors, experience adventure, travel to new places and spend time with her family. She has a strong desire to see Bible Quizzing grow throughout the Alaska Yukon District.
Steve Hobson
ADVISOR
Steve Hobson is an avid reader and teacher of the Word of God. One of his favorite scriptures, Luke 4:18, attests to his desire to spread the gospel through the Word of God. He finds that through memorization of scripture, a man becomes more wise, more determined and ultimately empowered to fulfill Gods purpose in their life. That through Gods word, nations are ruled, storms are calmed and the sick are healed.
Steve Hobson attended Jackson College of Ministries, after which he served under several pastors, teaching all ages the importance of hearing and obeying Gods Word. He now attends Life Church in Anchorage, Alaska, where he also lives with his wife and their three children.

JUNIOR QUIZMASTER
Zach was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and with an AA from Christian Life College, he returned home with a burden to see his city saved. Zach is a wonderful husband and a father to two beautiful girls, one of which will be starting her first year of bible quizzing. The most exciting part about volunteering for Quiz Mastering is not getting choked up when the littles ones are able to recite the verses that are in their heart.
When Zach isn’t being a trash truck man, he is a historian and musician, while he enjoys traveling, outdoors, family time, music, and fellowship. He also loves to study and is honored to teach when requested for PI and Life Class.
Zach and his wife, Justine from Sitka, faithfully serve at Life Church and are humbled and honored to serve the district they love so much.

Senior Quizmaster
Bro. & Sis. Hillestad have been Pastor of Safe Haven Pentecostal Church in Seward Alaska for 13 Years.
In 1998 Bro. Hillestad had the opportunity to travel to Alaska as a high school graduate and fell in love with the state. It took many years for the doors to open but in 2013 God brought Bro. & Sis. Hillestad to this great state.
Bro. & Sis. Hillestad met at Jackson College of Ministries and were soon married after graduation. During the early years they worked as youth ministers in Texas under Bro. Clay Strawn, who is the Texas District Quiz Master. With Sis. Hillestad being a nationally ranked quizzer in her early years and the influence of Bro. Strawn, Bro. Hillestad began to assist with quiz tournaments.
After several years Bro. & Sis. Hillestad moved to Alabama where she immediately started a quiz team and began to assist with the district quiz ministry. Within a few years Bro. Hillestad was asked to become the Alabama district quiz master.
Upon moving to Alaska there was a short hiatus from quizzing while learning to pastor in a state so far away from family, but as the family grew and teenagers began to be interested in Senior quizzing Bro. & Sis. Hillestad found their way back into the quiz family. In 2026 upon the retirement of Bro. Ryan Butler, Bro. Hillestad assumed the role of Senior Quiz Master.
